About Deo Gloria
Deo Gloria is a small but merry band of children and parents cooperatively educating our children in Howell, Michigan. We are distinctively Christian in our philosophy of education as well as Classical in our methodology. We’ve happily integrated our efforts to accomodate various homeschool programs in order to build community and educational rigor. Our mission as parents is to to honor Christ by fullfilling our responsibility to instruct our children in what we profess and believe is true: the Word of God that created, founded, and sustains everything. This mission topples the idolatry of apathetic, resigned, and ‘neutral’ modern/public education (Why the Fuss? Read more here). Our tools include the truth, beauty, and goodness of Christ exprensed in community classes, feasts, song, and laughter.
At this time, we maitain a zero-cost fellowship of various group activities throughout the year. Our plans include holding select classes, such as catechism and music, starting Fall of 2011. Please take a look around our new blog to find out more, and feel free to contact us if you’d like to join the fun.
If you have questions or comments, please feel free to chime in. If you have screaming or fanatical objections, we’d love to hear from you too so long as you check any foul language at the door.
Deo Gloria History
In 2008 we started holding classes one morning each week, and covered the subjects of Music, Bible, Michigan History, Science, and Art. Deo Gloria continues our work of collaboration with parents of the community to further develop a classical Christian educational venue within Livingston County.
About Our People
As mentioned above, Deo Gloria School is a collaborative effort of Christian parents seeking to provide a faithful and robust education for their children. With various community relationships, the government of Deo Gloria is associated with Christ Church of Livingston County. Teachers have included various members of this congregation, as well as pastors from other reformed Christian churches in the area.
